It will be my honor to serve as
your Auxiliary President for 2011, and to be working with the newly
elected commodores of DRYC.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each
month (except July, August, and November) at 10:00 a.m. for a light
breakfast, and at 10:30 a.m. our meetings begin.
In order to renew or join the Auxiliary, contact
Membership Chair Arlene Mohilner, or Co-Chair Judy Gottfried to join.
Membership is $35.00 (1 member) or $55.00 (couple). The membership
forms can be filled out in the Del Rey office.
The Auxiliary is responsible at the Twin Harbor’s
July 4th celebration for the children’s crafts and tattoo
area. At Halloween time, we
have a wonderful “Kid’s Day Party,” at DRYC.
They are great events for the Kids!
We try to have monthly trips or programs, too.
Our upcoming events planned are: a trip to LACMA (Fashioning
Fashion), the Grammy
Museum, the Peterson Auto
Museum, A Day at the
Races, and more.
1st Vice President Arlene Carabet
operates the Ship’s Store.
The clothing (many nautical themed) is varied, lovely and the lowest cost
possible. Just visit the
store, and I’m certain you will find something wonderful.
The store’s profit is how the Auxiliary can help DRYC’s Jr.
Sailing Program, purchase gifts for the club, maintain the lovely floral
displays throughout the club and more.
The Auxiliary fosters camaraderie, good times, and
working together to help support the Auxiliary and the Club.
It’s “A New Day” and a “New Year”, so join us at our
meetings.
