Auxiliary President's Message

I am honored to follow in the footsteps of so many accomplished women as the Del Rey Yacht Club's 2010 Auxiliary President. We hope to delight all of you with a real variety of Field Trips and Programs this year. These will include but aren't limited to a special-access tour of SONY's state-of-the art special effects facility in Culver City (lunch at Akasha, a "best" of 2009 restaurant), a Wellness seminar with an emphasis on building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, A Classical Concert, a Day at the Santa Anita Racetrack, tours of the Watts Towers (lunch in historic Chinatown) and the Herzog Winery, a private reception at the G 2 Gallery in Venice, a Film Symposium with one of the business's most respected executives, and more. We will also staff and organize a children's Tattoo and Crafts table during Twin Harbor's July 4th celebration as well as the annual Kid's Day Halloween party at DRYC.

Our members volunteer their time to operate the Ships Store selling a wide variety of nautically-themed clothing and seasonal items such as SEES CANDY. The Ships Store windows also reflect the creativity of our members who maintain them! The Store enables us to sponsor inner city children for DRYC's Jr. Sailing Program, purchase gifts for the Club, purchase/maintain the beautiful floral displays throughout the facility, and provide other perks for our members.

DRYC Auxiliary membership fosters camaraderie and the opportunity to work with other members who share a common vision. We are proud of our traditions but are conscious of the need to evolve as we grow and face new challenges. We look forward to doing this together.

We welcome and encourage new members to join us on the second Wednesday of each month (no meetings in July, August, and November) at 10:00 AM for breakfast and a lively meeting! Membership is $35.00 for a single one and $55.00 per couple. Please Arlene Mohilner or Robin Mohilner, or myself for more information about the DRYC Auxiliary.

I hope to see you at our next meeting!
